Happy Holidays To Our Peterborough Community

 Still No Face Painting
Until All The Kiddos Can Be Kept Safe While They Have Fun

While we wait to get the chance to get back into the community with the kiddos, Heather-Feather has been busy figuring out how to put smiles on faces in other ways.  She's moved her art online!  Some of her works have been specially themed for the young and young-at-heart.

New artwork added weekly.  A sample of what she's been doing...

[On Redbubble, listed as H3designs] ---

"This unique hand painted Christmas tree was created using high-pigmented face paints. During covid, children could not be in public getting their faces painted at birthdays or holiday events, leaving tons and tons of face painting supplies worldwide going unused. This artist has found a way to put them back to use and once again put smiles on faces. Once printed on products, high-quality inks will be used and there will be no need to feel concern that your face paints will come off in the wash. *wink* "

Wishing all of our Peterborough families, organizations, and community businesses a very happy and healthy holiday season.

2 Announcements... Covid Update & Follow By Email...

2 Announcements...

1 --- Covid Update --- We are so happy that things are beginning to open up again after the 3rd wave.  Unfortunately, there is still to be no face painting.  Doing this work with kids means that we would need to be up close face-to-face with them, one after another.  Most kiddos are not to be vaccinated, and research around the sterilization of face paints where covid is concerned has been a non-priority to officials during the pandemic.  The health and safety of our community's children must come first.  Thank you for understanding.  They still deserve to have super-duper fun parties, though, so in the meantime we are continuing to suggest alternatives, such as sticker packs for the guests to take home, perhaps some crafting during the party, or maybe temporary tattoos that they can apply themselves.  We send out wishes for much fun this summer, and we hope to hear some good news for the face painting community some time this year.

2 --- Follow By Email To Be Disabled --- We've received an announcement from Blogger that the 'Follow By Email' button is to be disabled as of August 2021.  It is therefore being removed from this page.  If you had previously subscribed and you no longer receive posts, an alternative is to subscribe to either or both Facebook pages or Youtube channel using the links below.  Thanks so much for your understanding.

Redbubble Sticker Packs

As mentioned in my last post, since there has been no face painting during the pandemic, I've been having fun using my creative talents in other ways until we can get back to some normalcy. I've started a new Youtube channel sharing a bit of my creative journey, as well as a new Redbubble shop. Here's a video about a few of my own sticker packs I'd uploaded to my shop and ordered, to see how they turn out when you get them and to share some things to think about if you are buying or selling on Redbubble.

Announcement... Exciting News From Heather-Feather...

A little cross-platform / business plug for myself...

ANNOUNCEMENT...

During the pandemic I have had the time and the need to get back to more of my efforts around my artistic pursuits. I AM THRILLED TO ANNOUNCE that this weekend (May 28th – 30th, 2021) I am launching a new suite of online venues sharing my creative bliss --- a brand new art website (I scrapped the old one and started from scratch); a new Redbubble shop; a new Pinterest account; a new Facebook page; a new Fiverr account, and a new Youtube channel. These are all in the infant stage and I ask for kindness and patience from viewers, but they are coming along and I am exciting to be sharing my work to a greater audience at long last.

I've been happy as a lark getting these venues set up and posting my work. It's been years in the coming! Moving forward you will see the following additions (and more) to these platforms --- art for children and nature lovers (painted with face paints on canvas... something different!), line and ink drawing, watercolour and acrylics, photography, scanography, vector art, intuitive art, art journalling pages, and more.

While my art is my hobby and my bliss and I do it for me, I decided to conjunt my launch with the big Redbubble sale set for this weekend as the announcement seemed like a good prod for timing and nudged me to just get on with it. If you enjoy visual creativity and are interested in visiting my website or any of these other platforms, I invite you to view my works through the following links. Wish me well!

Replacing Face Painting During Covid...

Well, my community, 2020 did not work out for face painting, did it?  We still don't know about 2021, either.  It has been a long haul without our community but I do send out my wishes to you and your family that you are safe and continue to be so.

Since we do not know when we will be able to return to get-togethers with face painting, I thought I would start off the new year with some ideas for activities that you might be able to do at home or with your family.  I cannot take credit for these --- they come through my Facebook feed --- but I thought they were wonderful and wanted to share them with you all.  I hope that you find some enjoyment in them, or are finding other fun ways to enjoy your days safely.

DAILY / WEEKLY CHALLENGES have been all the rage for quite a long time, now, and Heather-Feather often enjoys doing a variety of types of challenges.  Some of these have been art challenges, photography challenges, reading challenges, and more.  Having a daily challenge can help to keep the mind stimulated while we have fun.  Here is a prompt list for a weekly drawing challenge from 2020 by Jake Parker who was the creator of Inktober.  For more information on Inktober and Jake Parker, you can go to... https://inktober.com/ .  You may also be able to search for other prompt lists for challenges online with your parents' permission.

Here is the link to the PETERBOROUGH PUBLIC LIBRARY... https://www.ptbolibrary.ca .  Once on their website, you can find all kinds of fantastic activities to do, including online classes, craft-along workshops (you pick up the supplies from them to take home and then follow along online to learn how to do a certain craft), and of course book clubs and more.

Okay my sweeties, lots of love to our community and wishing you a happy 2021! I look forward to seeing you all again and putting smiles back on faces when our leaders say that we can finally do so.  Take care, All!
